2005 Programme
The 2005 programme was ambitious. It provided students and recent graduates with a long overdue opportunity to explore future directions, refine their skills and interact with the most amazing and eclectic body of creative professionals. We loosely categorise the two streams of activity into the areas of ’Design’ & ’Publishing¹. Whilst the intent was to present speakers whose experience relates to each of these activities, we also made a deliberate attempt to shake up and dilute the perceptions of what it means to ’design’ and to ’publish’.

What is Everything in Between?
Everything in Between is a series of workshops, talks and collaborations between national and international creative thinkers. Run over an intensive 13-week period twice a year, the programme is for students wanting to challenge the conventional approach to design thinking and education. The two streams of activity, Design and Publishing, run twice a year so you have the opportunity to undertake one, or both. Each stream runs for a period of 13 weeks with workshops and discussions occurring within this time.

Please note that participants do not have access to all of the speakers, only those in the stream that they choose to apply for. Refer to the above programme details for clarification. Everything in Between is limited to two groups of 15 people in each of the streams. This means that the contact you have with speakers and within the workshops is engaging and personal. All briefs for Everything in Between are created and overseen by 3 Deep Design. This ensures that the quality of thinking is unique, non-conventional and challenging. It also means that you have a visible and established design studio behind the programme.

Who can participate?
Everything in Between is open to all students currently registered in a Secondary, University or TAFE course. It is also open to those who have graduated in the past 3 years. You are not required to be studying, or have studied, a particular course to be eligible. Professionals will also have the opportunity to critically engage with some of the worlds leading practitioners through a series of full day workshops.

Each workshop will be limited to 10 guests and will provide an intimate setting for the discussion, creation and critique of ideas. The professional workshops are open to designers & ceatives from any discipline. For more information on the professional workshops download the promotional postcard here.

The first Design & Publishing streams commence in March and run through to June. The second Design & Publishing streams start in July and run through to September.

Where does it happen?
The programme is currently based in Victoria, Australia and will be available in other states of Australia in the coming years. The venues for each workshop change, and all venues, workshop times and workshop specifics will be confirmed online.

How long are the workshops?
The workshops will commence at 6.00pm every Tuesday evening for the duration of the programme, with a full day workshop occurring on Friday 22nd April and Friday 1st July.

What do I get out of it?
By undertaking Everything in Between, you will not only be exposed to some of the worlds leading creative thinkers but you will establish a body of work different to that of your peers. Remember, this is a workshop/brief based programme, it is not a series of show and tell lectures. This means that you are hands-on and create work. Project outcomes will demonstrate your commitment to the development of your craft, your ideas and your folio. You will receive a certificate to acknowledge your commitment and participation in the programme, along with permission to use the Everything in Between logo within your folio and your CV. You will also have the opportunity to attend select dinners and presentations. Your work will also be published in an annual publication distributed by 3 Deep Publishing and exhibited as part of a final year exhibition.

How do I get in?
Everything in Between is competitive. There are only 60 placements a year offered over the entire programme. The fact that you are being exposed to the very best professional creatives in the world, and the demand on the placements means we had to establish an application process! The application process involves three components: a written response, a visual response and an application fee. All applications are assessed with an equal weighting on both the written and visual components. Application fees need to be paid upon receipt of application to Everything in Between.

All applicants will be contacted upon assessment of application and those successful will be provided with payment details. Application forms will be made available online from the start of November 2004. Remember, the first 200 applications go into the draw to win an 4GB Apple IPod Mini. register here to receive an application kit.
