Mari Funaki

Mari Funaki Is a jewellery designer and gallery director. Born in Japan she emigrated to Australia and studied painting, and gold and silversmithing. She has exhibited extensively in Australia and abroad, and was commissioned to design a medal for the Australia Council’s Emeritus Award. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Power House Museum, the National Gallery of Victoria, and Die Neue Sammlung in Munich, Germany. She founded Gallery Funaki in 1995, exhibiting a diverse and innovative range of contemporary jewellery by renowned international and local designers.
