Work from Switzerland: Contemporary Swiss Design
Brno Czech Republic 15 June 2004 - 24 October 2004
The exhibition reflects an approach to graphic design typical of a young and emerging generation of artists for whom design is not only a profession but also a game, a kind of entertainment and lifestyle. At the same time, it introduces activities undertaken by the Swiss cultural office, such as the annual Swiss Design Award competition, which respects the current merging of disciplines and plays an important part in supporting artists and designers at the threshold of their careers. It also supports the Most Beautiful Book competition. The exhibition is held with the support of Pro Helvetia, Arts Council of Switzerland. Exhibition concept: Adam Machacek. This event is one of several accompanying exhibitions in the 21st International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno 2004.
